When you arrive for your First Friday workshop, please make your way to our Front Gallery to check in!
While workshop check-ins normally happen directly in the studio, our gallery will be open for First Friday. We invite you to explore unique handcrafted work from Clayworks artists before your class begins.
Experience Level: No experience necessary; all materials and tools are provided.
Pickup: Your completed pieces will be fired by our team and ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks after the class. You will receive an email with specific instructions when they are ready.
Wheel Workshops - Ages 18 +
Friday, oCTOBER 2, 6-8pm
Ever want to learn to throw on the potter's wheel but cannot commit to a class?
In this 2-hour workshop, a Clayworks teaching artist will teach you the basics of wheel throwing. Toward the end of the workshop, you choose your favorite pieces and the glaze color they will be finished in. We will take care of the drying and firing of your pots. Attend alone, or bring a friend, family member, or a date! Your pottery will be food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
Please note: Wheel throwing is a skill that takes time to develop, and is never perfected on the first try. Clayworks cannot guarantee the quality of finished pieces, as results depend on your work during the workshop. Glaze color cannot be guaranteed and refunds/credits will not be issued based on dissatisfaction with finished pieces. That said, we invite you to join us for a fun, hands-on creative experience, imperfections and all!

NOVEMBER HANDBUILDING WORKSHOP: HOLIDAY CERAMIC TREES
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 6-8PM
Light up your cozy winter evenings! Guided by Diana, you'll learn how to build and shape ceramic holiday trees using slab and pinch techniques. Cut out glowing star or dot patterns, add textured bows or garlands, and create custom details to let light shine through. Finished pieces make a timeless piece of holiday decor to display in your home or give as a gift.

November RAKU WORKSHOP: COPPER LUSTER
Friday, NOVEMBER 6, 6:00-8:00pm
Want to have some fiery fun and take home your pottery the same day? Join Clayworks for a hands-on raku firing workshop! Every participant receives a hand-thrown bisque ware piece to glaze and fire. In this 2-hour workshop, Greg and John will teach you copper luster glaze techniques and guide you through the outdoor raku firing process.
